Occupational Therapy Associates of Princeton

A message from our clinical director
At OTAP we are dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of infants, children, and young adults.
A pediatric occupational therapist helps a child to develop, maintain and restore abilities to become independent while performing activities within their daily lives. Occupational therapists are trained to use a developmental frame of reference when completing a specific activity and/or during play. Through the exchanges with the therapist the child begins to foster the development of skills which have not been previously learned or developed.
OTAP focuses on treating the “whole child” using a multi-sensory developmental approach.
We work with children of all ages with any developmental challenges from coordination disorders to problems with self-regulation, sensory processing, social skills and difficulties at school. At OTAP each child learns the fundamentals necessary to create a foundation for learning so that they can build on their strengths and experience success.
OTAP believes that parents and caregivers are an integral part of the therapy process. We provide with on site trainings following all treatment sessions for increased carryover of services in the home. We work closely with school staff to increase carryover in the educational environment.
